The Quasar VLBI network

The stationary "Quasar" VLBI network is comprised of three radio observatories: 'Svetloe', 'Zelenchukskaya' and 'Badary'.The observatories are located in the Leningrad Oblast (region), the Karachaevo-Circassian republic and the Buryatiya republic respectively and are connected with the IAA Collation Processing Center located in St. Petersburg. Svetloe observatory

The Svetloe Observatory is the first of the three radioastronomical observatories that comprise the "Quasar" network. The observatory has been in nomral operation since 1999 and has seen a renovation of the telescope in 2006. The diameter of the main dish is 32 meters (115 feet) in diameter.

Zelenchukskaya observatory

The Zelenchukskaya observatory is the second of the three radioastronomical observatories that comprise the "Quasar" network. The observatory has been in normal operation since 2002. Similar to that of the Svetloe observatory, the main dish is 32 meters (115 feet) in diameter.

Badary observatory

The Badary observatory is the second of the three radioastronomical observatories that comprise the "Quasar" network. It has been in normal operation since 2005 and on 1-2 March 2007 participated in its first session as part of IVS network.
